Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. Let me know if you want something cool. I’m a weird person nad like warm drink when it’s warm, but I know not everyone does. Currently it isn’t too warm, but it is very humid so sticky. It will get hot later today, perhaps in the 90s F (32+ C). It’s been hot all week, which is good after the cold end to last week. And were are we? Some of you may recognize the coffee cup at the top of the page as being up in New Hampshire.
It’s been a very busy week. I felt I haven’t stopped, yet I can’t really say a lot about what I did. I did play some music (I mean with my fingers, not recordings). In fact, i hadn’t been doing much music for a while, but doing the video for my up coming book, The Fireborn, has put me back in the mood again. I seem to go through cycles of different arts and I guess music is coming up once again. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It’s a little on the cool side for July, though it is very humid. I think we have a return to the steaming hot weather next week, but we might as well enjoy this respite while we can. And where are we? Some of you may know that the pyramid of Beatles mugs lives on Cape Cod.
It has been an odd week. I really didn’t get a lot done. I’ve been down here since Wednesday night, but haven’t been out much. It rained after work on Thursday and Friday was an odd day, though I did take a long walk in the woods after work. I just returned from a long walk on the beach. I saw a bunch of seals! Not much else this week. some reading, writing, work around the house and such. My work at work was, well, work.
My pace of blogging has slowed down a lot since the spring and early summer. I’m still blogging too much, but… A big part of it is that I’m not posting a serialized novel. Well, maybe. If I’m not careful the story I’ve been writing for Sue Vincent’s #writephoto may become novel length. I posted the 4th installment on Thursday. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong French Roast. Or is it Sumatra? I think, actually, it’s a mix of the two, but it is still good! or a cuppa tea or something else. It has been an almost perfect week weatherwise. OK, yesterday was rainy, and the week started off hot and humid, but most of it was what summer days are supposed to be like. Cool at night (58 F/14 C) and pleasantly warm during the day (85 F/29 C). The house stays perfect in the 60s, getting up into the 70s some days (last weekend it was almost 90 F (30 C) in the house. With the 100% humidity…. Anyway, it is great now! And where is this nice, summer weather occurring? Some of you may know that the picture at the top was taken in New Hampshire.
It was a weird week. I returned to work on Monday, only to have Tuesday off. I spent a lot of time catching up and the rest of the time trying to get my mind back into work mode. Ouch. That is difficult. But I did get quite a bit done. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome. I’ll see if I can get you a drink real quick. Perhaps we will need to stop at a coffee shop. Hmmm, I guess I didn’t think this meeting through…. Anyway, it is grey and humid. The morning is warm, though not hot. The humidity makes it almost, but not quite, uncomfortable. And where are we? Even my long time readers may be confused by the photo at the top. Here is the thing – I am writing this down on Cape Cod, but I will leave as soon as I post this. Later today I will be up in New Hampshire, but i am going to take my time driving, making a few stops on the way. So, the picture of the travel mug on the street is for me being on the road traveling.
I didn’t work this week. I spent the week on Cape Cod. Yes, there are many stories, but this isn’t the time. Well, if you really were sitting next to me, I’d tell you about beaches, walks, swims, kayak rides, photography and such. I might also tell you about editing and formatting. Maybe drawing and painting. Playing with the dogs is also up there. Anyway, it was a full week and i was up by 6:30 most mornings, a few even earlier.
In ways I hate to go back, but in other ways I have a million things to do up in new Hampshire, so I need to get there soon. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It’s a little odd out right now. It is warmish and windy. It is also cloudy and humid. It looks like rain, but I’m not sure if it will hit us. And where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from my cottage on Cape Cod.
Last week was very busy, but, again, I don’t have a lot to show for it. One big thing, I am on vacation this coming week, so I spent a lot of time preparing. There are also projects at work and other such things.
I also did quite a bit of writing. I had sent my manuscript of The Fireborn to two people to edit. One found a lot of typos and that type of thing, while the other pointed out more stylist things. I’ve been going through their notes and am making corrections where needed. I don’t always agree, but it is helping. Actually, there isn’t as many problems as I expected. On the other hand, I’ve done six drafts and over a dozen read throughs/revisions. I’ve corrected a huge amount of mistakes in that time! When I’m done with this, I’ll do one more quick read through to catch any other typos/misspellings/misused words/etc. I started earlier this week and I’m a little over three quarters of the way done. One long session or two shorter ones and I’ll be done (except the final read through).
Of course, after that part is done, the hard work has to happen. In some ways this will be harder to format that Seasons of Imagination. On the other hand, I don’t have to worry about a table of contents, which turned out to be a major pain. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It’s a nice day and will be relatively warm. Pretty much typical mid to late June weather. The nights are cool (though they’ll be above average this week) and the days pleasantly warm. And where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top to mean that we are in New Hampshire.
It was one of those weeks that I hardly remember what happened. It seems like there was something constantly going on, so I didn’t get much done, and yet the only thing I remember is Tuesday’s Lions’ Club meeting/June cookout. The first half of the week was sweltering, but the second half nice. I have a huge amount of writing piling up and feel behind. There is a lot of work around the house screaming to be done (I did do some over the week) and a couple of dogs screaming to be walked and played with. I think they still have extra energy stored from the days that were too hot to have them out much. Continue reading →
Hello and welcome! Come on in. Well, for a minute while we get drinks. It is great outside for a change and we don’t want to waste more than a minute inside! As usual I have a very strong French Sumatra Roast, a variety of teas, hot cocoa, water, etc. We can sit out back and put Fiyero and the long leash so I can keep a hand and eye on him. Ah, great, isn’t it? Oh, you want to know where we are? By the photo at the top, yes, all of those great Beatles’ mugs, some may know that we are on Cape Cod.
Some of you may have seen my pre-recorded “I’m not here right now” Coffee share last week. If not, you may have seen my post Home. No? How about my week 75 (75!!) Weekly Smile? I spent a bit of time last week in Ohio visiting family. I fly in last Wednesday and back on Monday. It was a nice visit, and besides the above mentioned posts, I will most likely do a photo post later.
I’ve had some time off of work, but also worked a lot. We are getting quite a bit done, which is always satisfying, but there are few end products to hold up and say, “Look at this!”
I am still having Internet problems down here on Cape Cod. I am using my phone’s data. Not ideal. I call Comcast, they say someone will be out. Nobody comes or calls. It has been out a month. A MONTH! And nothing has been done. Can you say frustrating? I knew you could. Continue reading →
Hello and… Hold on. I’m not sure where I am, so I guess I can’t welcome you, can I? Anyway, this is just a place marker. I’m someplace in northern Ohio and am far from my computer. Hopefully I’m having fun ;)
Honestly, I wrote this (am writing this?) on Wednesday. Yeah, as i wait to catch my plane. So, honestly, I have no idea what I’m doing.
I hope you had a great week! We’ll catch up real soon. Well, I’ll try to catch up real soon…
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of a very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or something other beverage. It looks like it’s going to be a nice day, which is great since it has been so cold and wet (yes, again) the last few days. And where am I? Some of you may recognize the phot at the top of the page as being down on Cape Cod.
Despite the wet and cold, it looks like summer is here. I took a ride out to my favorite beach this morning. I hit a few traffic jams at 7:30 AM on a Saturday! And the parking lot at the beach was already full. OK, not full, but when there are almost a dozen cars as opposed to me being the only car, well, it seems full. There were people everywhere. For people who don’t live in this country, this is Memorial Day weekend, the big American kickoff to summer. Every person who has a seasonal house/cottage/cabin/camp on Cape Cod seems to be down. I have usually gone other placers on Memorial Day, so this is new to me. I guess I knew it was busy, I just never experienced it. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice mug of super strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage. After weeks of odd weather, it is perfect today! It had been cold and wet for a few weeks, and then this week it turned hot, like 95 F/35 C. Today and for the next few days, it will be nice and comfortable with cold nights – great for sleeping! Not that I slept well last night, but that’s another story for another time. Anyway, where am I? By the photo at the top you may guess that I am in New Hampshire this weekend.
So, work was ultra-busy. Enough said ;) OK, just a few words. In ways, being busy is better than bored. And at least I have work, and a very good job at that. And it is challenging and I have to continue to grow and stretch myself. What happens to people as the age if work no longer challenges or stretches them, make them grow? Does their mind atrophy? Their work muscles shrivel? Hmmm. I don’t want to find out… Continue reading →
