I’m sorry this is so late.  I was supposed to get in mid-afternoon yesterday but got home after midnight.  Oh well, so it goes.  In case you didn’t see my other posts, I was away for most of the last week.  Where was I?  Colorado.

If you follow my blog you will see more about this trip in a later post.  I’m not sure when I’ll be able to go through all of the photos, but you can be sue I’ll have a photo post.  I did send a few phone-photos to social media before I broke my phone (another story for another day ;) ), like this one: Continue reading

I am going to be away for a few.  If I don’t answer your comments or read your posts, now you know why.  I did put several things in draft, so you may still seems some posts.

75!  Wow, that’s quite a few!

This week is difficult.  It’s not because I can’t think of anything to smile about, it’s that there are too many smiles.

Last week I flew into Cleveland to visit family in Ohio.  So there is family as a smile.  And then I could go through the different individual family members and add smiles.  Like a nephew you just graduated college and has a great job lined up.  Or a niece who just completed a great Freshman year at college.  On and on, I can add many such smiles, digging down deeper and deeper.  Hundreds, no, thousands of smiles.  A “niece” from China also graduated from college and her parents were visiting from China (she will stay here to work and go back to graduate school).  More and more.  A niece with a new house.  etc. Continue reading

Cleveland in the evening seen from the air

I’m back home form going back home.  Yeah.  Did you get that?  So, over a long weekend I visited my parents who live in the town that I grew up in: “Home”.  Right now I am back int he town where I’ve spend almost half of my life, and the majority of my adult life: “Home”.  back from the house I grew up in to the house I built.

Anyway, in the next few days you might start seeing me again :)

If We Were Having Coffee on the 3rd of June

Coffe on the RoadHello and…  Hold on.  I’m not sure where I am, so I guess I can’t welcome you, can I?  Anyway, this is just a place marker.  I’m someplace in northern Ohio and am far from my computer.  Hopefully I’m having fun ;)

Honestly, I wrote this (am writing this?) on Wednesday.  Yeah, as i wait to catch my plane.  So, honestly, I have no idea what I’m doing.

I hope you had a great week!  We’ll catch up real soon.  Well, I’ll try to catch up real soon…

Talk to you later.

The  Coffee Share is now hosted by Nerd in the Brain.  Thank you Emily!

I’m Not Here Right Now….

Flying Osprey

I am not here right now….

I flew out last night to visit with family.  I’ll be gone for several days.  I did schedule a few posts for while I’m away.  I doubt, however, that I’ll be able to read anybody’s posts or answer comments (I’ll try to squeeze in a minute or two on occasion for comments).

I hope you all have a great week! Continue reading

Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

So much to smile about, so little time to write about it ;)  My original thought for this week was to talk about my trip down to Washington, DC last week.  I was there for training, and the class was very good.  I also had some free time and visited a few museums, which is always great.  And I met fellow blogger, Britta, which was great.  Overall, it was a very good little jaunt, particularly in that it was officially a “business trip”.  Unfortunately, I’ve written a lot about all of these things before, like in my Coffee Share post.  And with meeting Britta, I even put it in a smile reminder. Out of town

If you wonder
Why I’m not around
It’s just because
I’m out of town
When I’m home
I will try
To visit you
Just to say ‘Hi!’

Look at the picture at the top of the page. I took it earlier today.  Guess where I am ;)

Weekly Smile Week 43 #weeklysmile

Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

Weekly Smile #WeeklySmile

This has been a weird week.  I have a ton of things to smile about, which is great!  But nothing is earth shattering, so I’m having a hard time choosing.  So, eenie, meenie, minee, Moe, Curly and Larry….  I guess I’ll just pick something.

I have a relatively close relationship to my parents.  I mean, they live 600 miles (about 1000 KM) away, so i don’t see them all of the time, but I do call often.  Well, they were gone for 2 1/2 weeks.  OK, “gone” is a harsh word.  They like to travel a lot and have been all over the world.  So for two weeks they were in German, mostly in the Eastern part that they don’t know very well (the first time the visited Germany it was still two countries) following in the footsteps of Martin Luther.  They are not Lutheran, but some people from their local Lutheran church invited them along to celebrate the upcoming 500 year anniversary of the ‘Ninety-Five Theses”.  After that they spent several days with friends in a different part of the country.  Their friends live near the Austrian border and not far (across a lake or driving through Austria) from Switzerland.    They had a great visit. I’m Not Here Right Now, But…

I’m not here right now, but if you want to leave a message, just start talking at the sound of the tone.  OK, the blog isn’t up to old school answering-machine level yet, but you can leave a message at the bottom ;)

Here’s a tone (this is actually my ring tone on my phone):

Anyway, I am traveling all week.  in fact, I didn’t just post this but scheduled it to be posted.  I couldn’t post it because I’m not here right now ;)

I’ll try to check in now and again and may even put up some posts.  I hope to do a weekly smile post at the very least!  I can view blogs and answer some comments on my phone, so I won’t be totally gone.

So, hey, I’ll be seeing you off and one this week!  Have a good one!
