If We Were Having Coffee on the 17th of June

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It’s a nice day and will be relatively warm.  Pretty much typical mid to late June weather.  The nights are cool (though they’ll be above average this week) and the days pleasantly warm.  And where are we?  Some may recognize the photo at the top to mean that we are in New Hampshire.

It was one of those weeks that I hardly remember what happened.  It seems like there was something constantly going on, so I didn’t get much done, and yet the only thing I remember is Tuesday’s Lions’ Club meeting/June cookout.  The first half of the week was sweltering, but the second half nice.  I have a huge amount of writing piling up and feel behind.  There is a lot of work around the house screaming to be done (I did do some over the week) and a couple of dogs screaming to be walked and played with.  I think they still have extra energy stored from the days that were too hot to have them out much. If We Were Having Coffee on the 10th of June!

Hello and welcome!  Come on in.  Well, for a minute while we get drinks.  It is great outside for a change and we don’t want to waste more than a minute inside!  As usual I have a very strong French Sumatra Roast, a variety of teas, hot cocoa, water, etc.  We can sit out back and put Fiyero and the long leash so I can keep a hand and eye on him.  Ah, great, isn’t it?  Oh, you want to know where we are?  By the photo at the top, yes, all of those great Beatles’ mugs, some may know that we are on Cape Cod.

Some of you may have seen my pre-recorded “I’m not here right now” Coffee share last week.  If not, you may have seen my post Home.  No?  How about my week 75 (75!!) Weekly Smile?  I spent a bit of time last week in Ohio visiting family.  I fly in last Wednesday and back on Monday.  It was a nice visit, and besides the above mentioned posts, I will most likely do a photo post later.

I’ve had some time off of work, but also worked a lot.  We are getting quite a bit done, which is always satisfying, but there are few end products to hold up and say, “Look at this!”

I am still having Internet problems down here on Cape Cod.  I am using my phone’s data.  Not ideal.  I call Comcast, they say someone will be out.  Nobody comes or calls.  It has been out a month.  A MONTH!  And nothing has been done.  Can you say frustrating?  I knew you could. Continue reading

If We Were Having Coffee on the 3rd of June

Coffe on the RoadHello and…  Hold on.  I’m not sure where I am, so I guess I can’t welcome you, can I?  Anyway, this is just a place marker.  I’m someplace in northern Ohio and am far from my computer.  Hopefully I’m having fun ;)

Honestly, I wrote this (am writing this?) on Wednesday.  Yeah, as i wait to catch my plane.  So, honestly, I have no idea what I’m doing.

I hope you had a great week!  We’ll catch up real soon.  Well, I’ll try to catch up real soon…

Talk to you later.

The  Coffee Share is now hosted by Nerd in the Brain.  Thank you Emily!

If We Were having Coffee on the 27th of May

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of a very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or something other beverage.  It looks like it’s going to be a nice day, which is great since it has been so cold and wet (yes, again) the last few days.  And where am I?  Some of you may recognize the phot at the top of the page as being down on Cape Cod.

Despite the wet and cold, it looks like summer is here.  I took a ride out to my favorite beach this morning.  I hit a few traffic jams at 7:30 AM on a Saturday!  And the parking lot at the beach was already full.   OK, not full, but when there are almost a dozen cars as opposed to me being the only car, well, it seems full.  There were people everywhere.  For people who don’t live in this country, this is Memorial Day weekend, the big American kickoff to summer.  Every person who has a seasonal house/cottage/cabin/camp on Cape Cod seems to be down.  I have usually gone other placers on Memorial Day, so this is new to me.  I guess I knew it was busy, I just never experienced it. If We Were Having Coffee on the 13th of May!

Hello and welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea, some cocoa or other beverage.  It is a little cool, and perhaps a bit damp, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy the warm beverage.  Oh yes, where are we?  Some of you can tell by the picture at the top that we are on Cape Cod this weekend.

This has been a busy week.  Work has been very, very busy.  I still haven’t caught up from the week of training!  And new things are constantly cropping up.  On Thursday i met people on the executive team, which was nice.  I mean, it was a room full of people, not just me, but there was a chance for everyone to talk.

Away from work it has also been very busy.  To tell you the truth, I have no idea why it was so busy.  I had Lion’s Club on Tuesday, but I’m not sure what else happened that would make me feel like nothing was done. Continue reading

If We Were Having Coffee on the 6th of May

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in out of the pouring rain and dry off.  Here, I’ll get you a large mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa.  If you are visiting after lunch I might be able to find a nip of something to warm you up ;)  Yesterday was wet, cold and miserable.  Today is starting as a repeat, but it will be much warmer (over 20 degrees F warmer).  I’m sure you are asking where it is so wet and nasty.  Well, pretty much the eastern half of the US, from what I’ve heard, but, as some of you may be able to tell by that Moog Voyager and coffee cup at the top, I’m in New Hampshire today.

I wasn’t in New Hampshire for most of the week.  If you read last week’s coffee post, you know I was on Cape Cod over the weekend.  I came home to NH on Sunday, but flew out on Monday.  I had some training to do for work down in Washington, DC.  The training was all day Tuesday and Wednesday and I flew home on Thursday.  It was a nice class and I did get a lot out of it.  I wish I could do more of those types of classes.  In fact, I’d like to do more classes of any type… Continue reading

If We Were Having Coffee on the 29th of April

Hello and welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get a nice mug of French Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It is a nice, if grey, day out there and we need some refreshment before we go explore!  Many of you who have visited me for coffee in the past may see that picture at the top and know that we are on Cape Cod this weekend.

This was a nice week.  Work was ultra-busy, but I took a couple of days off.  Yes, this is spring break for me!  I’ve kayaked, run, walked on the beach (a couple of them), walked in the woods, eaten sea food, etc., etc.  I’ve read a bit and did some blogging down here, but I haven’t done as much writing or editing as I should.  Too much going on! If We Were Having Coffee on the Earth Day, 2017

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in!  I know, it’s still a little raw out there.  It isn’t going to be a hot day by any stretch, but hopefully the sun will shine and burn some of the moisture off.    At least it isn’t snow! Oh, in case you couldn’t tell by the photo, we are in New Hampshire this week.

It’s been a busy week and it seems like I never had a chance to sit down.  Work was very busy and it seemed like there was something every evening at home, but I really don’t remember what.

It is Spring, and everyone is happy about that!  We had some warm weather, but after a week, I had to turn the heat on again.  Nobody is happy about that, except that we aren’t freezing our behinds off.  Puppies have wanted to be outside 100% of the time, so I’ve taken them a little more than usual, but I do have to have some inside time! If We Were Having Coffee on the 15th of April, 2017

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come in out of the… oops, sorry, it’s colder inside than outside.  I turned off the heat the other day when it was so warm (in the 80s F and upper 20s C).  I can’t turn it on yet, even though it has been cold at night, so the house is frigid…  It has been beautiful, though, and today will be warm so I can open windows.  Tomorrow may hit 80F (27 C) and so the house should get nice and warm, though I might have to turn the heat on again :(  Oh, you are asking where I am?  If you’ve been here before, you may recognize that photo of the beautiful synthesizer as having been taken up in new Hampshire.

Work was busy, but not insane.  We may get to insane levels later, but for now it is workable.

I got some stuff done around the house.  Mostly it’s been getting the house ready for spring.  I removed the plastic from a few windows so I could open them (see here for what I am talking about).  I put away the humidifiers and some of the space heaters.  Switched winter wardrobe for summer (I have a large cedar chest that keeps 6-months of off season clothes).  Other such stuff. If We Were Having Coffee on the 4th of April

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of French Roast, a cuppa tea, some cocoa or whatever you need (within reason ;) ).  It is a nice early Spring day.  The sun is shining and the wind is blowing.  It will be semi-warm, though still coat or jacket weather.  And where am I?  Long time readers may recognize the photo as being on Cape Cod, where I am today.

After the April Fools snow storm up in New Hampshire, things started to warm up and become more springlike.  The trend is going to continue – I see temperatures up to 80 F/27 C in New Hampshire coming up this week.  As a point of reference, we spent most of the month of March below freezing.  I’ve seen a few flowers, there are a lot of birds, I even heard peepers yesterday (on Cape Cod)!  The Osprey have returned to Cape Cod, as have other migratory birds.  and the ground is no longer frozen.  It is spring!

I took a long walk on the beach this morning.  It was very windy and not my nicest beach walk this year, but I still enjoyed it.  Yesterday, I had a long walk in the woods with the dogs.  That’s when I heard the spring-peepers.  Today I’ll spend as much time outside as possible. Continue reading
