If We Were Having Coffee on the Third of October, 2020

Hello and Welcome! Come on over and sit down and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is quite cool but not cold. The day is beautiful and sunny. The crispness in the air matches the rapidly changing leaves, at last – it was summer hot earlier in the week, so this bit of real October weather is very, very welcome! Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo as being in New Hampshire.

It was an odd week over all. I didn’t do a whole lot besides work. OK, there was exercise, running, playing with the dogs, walks with the dogs and other typical things, but I do those every week, o matter what. I have also continued in with my 25 pushups every day for 25 days. Tomorrow is the last day!

We are still getting fresh veggies from our CSA, mostly greens. Nice fresh salads every night :)

I am right now running a promotion, giving away the Kindle version of my book of short stories, Embers. See the post here or look for info at the bottom of the page if you are interested.

And that was about it.

Thanks for stopping by! f you have a coffee share, I will try to stop in and say hi.

Have a great weekend.

The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli.  The link to join is here.

If We Were Having Coffee on the 5th of November, 2016

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in out of the late fall cold and I’ll get you a large mug of very strong French Roast or a cuppa tea or other morning appropriate beverage.  The sun is coming up November late (the clocks change tomorrow, so it will be dark so much earlier), but the air is crisp and clear, making al of the muted colors stand out.  The fireworks are long gone and we are left with the burning embers of autumn, the oranges against the dark greens, the brick reds and dirty yellows, the browns and beiges.  It is still beautiful, but in a more mutated way.  The wind still calls my name, telling me I need to go out and enjoy the last of natures colors before everything is coated in white.  Oh, and where do the trees still glow with the very last of autumn’s fire?  Some of you may recognize that synthesizer in the picture at the top as being in New Hampshire.  Oh, here is a picture i took with my phone out of my kitchen window yesterday.  It’s the same view as the last two weeks, just a different angle across towards the police station instead of down towards the library. Sing the Praise of Coffee!

I was at a friend’s home studio. She wanted me to throw a few keyboard tracks on a tape her band was making. Yes, I said “tape” –  this was eons ago. Her multi-instrumentalist husband came in and asked about coffee.

“No thanks, I don’t drink coffee,” I said. “Just bring in some water. Thanks!”

He gave me a strange look and said, “You’re the first creative type I’ve met who didn’t drink coffee by the gallon.”

Ah, how times have changed. Continue reading
