Hello and Welcome! Let’s go over here to the table and look off in the woods. Beautiful, isn’t it? the large hill, all green? Of course you can see the trails the dogs have made, with a little help from yours truly. It is a beautiful day. It will get warm (86 F/30C), but not super humid, so nice. Right now, though, it is still cool. Cool and green. Where are we? Some of you may recognize that photo as being from New Hampshire.
It was a busy week. Most are ;) There was work, of course. I did a lot of writing. Stuff around the house. The tropical storm missed us, but we still had a bout of strong winds. Thankfully the storm pulled all of our humidity with it! It was hot (mid 90s F) and super humid, so a few cool days were welcome! Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on back into the back yard. I know, it looks like a construction zone. Well, it is a construction zone.. Anyway, we can sit here and look off towards the water, though the trees are in the way. Later we can take a walk down to the landing, but for now I will get you a nice large mug of very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage. Well, it is almost noon and warm, so perhaps a cool beverage would be better. Were are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
OK, so I am on Cape Cod this weekend. i came down here on Wednesday. I’ve been on the kayak a couple of times. In fact, I did a very long paddle this morning. I saw osprey and seals, among other critters. I’ve also been swimming a couple of times.
It has been hot and steamy this week. Very humid. Not the most comfortable, but then, it is that time of year. As we enter August, i can look forward to cooler nights. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on over to the table and have a seat. Why don’t you take a seat looking into the woods? Sure, the hill looks like a huge wall of green right now, but if you look closely you can see detain ;) And there are flowers closer at hand. The hummingbirds make frequent visits, unless I have my camera… Comfy? OK, I can get you a strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is warm right now, so maybe something cool. Where are we? Some of you may recognize the picture at the top as being from new Hampshire.
It has been a hot July. We had a slight respite the last couple of days, but it is getting warm again. It will be over 96 F/36 C on Monday, but with super high humidity so a “feel like” temperature ten degrees warmer. I’m ready for autumn!
Hello and Welcome! Come on into the back yard and I’ll get you a nice mug of a super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, or perhaps something cool. It is warm and sunny, though the back in nicely shaded and there is a breeze. Perfect to sit and sip our beverages. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize that photo at the top as being ob Cape Cod.
I drove down here late Wednesday. I had to work Thursday and Friday, but was still able to get out a bit, including a paddle on the kayak. I went running bright and early this morning and then drove to the other side of town to take a long walk on my favorite beach. I left to return home a little before 9 AM, and yet the traffic was backed up a mile waiting to get onto the beach! The other beach just down the road (the more popular one) was closed by shortly after 8. Yeah, I forget what high season is about! Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and sit down. I will get a towel or something to put on the seat. It isn’t raining anymore, but it has been, so everything is soaked. But the view is lovely! It is warm and will get hot, and being super humid, will feel hotter. Were are we? Some of you may recognize that photo as being from New Hampshire (aka NH).
Work was busy, but not awful. No emergencies and fewer than usual meetings. I am still in the middle of several huge projects, so staying busy. And people are still reaching out to me for things that aren’t really mine, so busy there as well… (It’s what I get for being so darn good ;) Perhaps a good reputation is worse than a bad one..). Anyway, a bit more seriously, it was busy,as it always is, but not bad. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Pull up a chair here and enjoy the view of the hillside. It is all green and beautiful. Yes, not all green – there are plenty of flowers! It is a gorgeous morning after a very wet week. So let’s sit here, relax, and just enjoy the moment. Ah…. Oh, where are we? Some of you may be able to guess by the photo at the top that we are in New Hampshire this morning.
First, You might not have missed me, but I did not post a coffee share last week. I took a week off of work and pretty much dropped out of blog-land over the week. I spent the week on Cape Cod (surprise, surprise ;) ). It was great! I took long walks on the beach, kayaked, swam, walked in the woods, relaxed, had fires in the back yard (OK, in the firepit in the back yard) did work around the house, hired someone to paint the house and someone else came by to look at the barn roof, bought a refrigerator, walked and played with dogs and, well, it was summer vacation!
Hello and Welcome! Let’s go out and sit down in the shade in the back yard. There is a nice breeze. I think it is fragrant, but you may get a bit too much of the saltwater marsh smell there ;) It is warm and sunny, a beautiful start to summer! And where are we? Some of you may recognize the scene in the photo at the top as being on Cape Cod.
I drove down here Thursday night. I had to work yesterday, but went kayaking after I was done. I went running by the beach this morning. It was already warm and humid. I have a million things I want to do today, and am not sure where I will start. OK, I will start with this post ;) Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Let’s sit down here at the table on the patio and I’ll get you a nice super strong mug of dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is still a little cool, though comfortable, but I can get you something cool instead of warm, if you’d like. We can sit here and look off into the woods and pretend we are a million miles from anyone instead of in the middle of a village. And were is this village? Some may recognize that van Gogh mug as being in New Hampshire.
This was a busy week. I had a busier than usual work week. Partially because of this, I didn’t blog as much as usual. I also had a dentist appointment on Thursday – I had a filling :( There was the typical playing with dogs in the woods behind the house and walking. For some reason, they preferred playing this week and we didn’t walk as much as usual. I ran and did my strength exercises. I read. Typical stuff. Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and sit down! Actually, it is pretty wet out, but there is a sheltered area – it’s like a wall-less room off of the side of the back barn just to the right of the photo at the top. I think the rain has stopped and it will be a nice day. Where are we? Some may recognize that photo as being from Cape Cod.
I’m not sure what to talk about this week. The same=old, same-old, of course – work, walking the dogs, exercise, etc. Weather – after being so hot, the temperatures crashed, but they have come back up to normal now. Lack of hair cuts – I tell people I am going after the Franz Liszt look… (google it ;) ) I haven’t been blogging much the last few days.
Then there is the wider world. Yeah. Perhaps I will do a longer post on that later. It is very complex, but people simplify it so much. Sigh. OK, real quick: Continue reading →
Hello and Welcome! Let’s go over here and sit down outside. It is a gorgeous morning. It is still in the low 70s (about 21 C) and the humidity is beginning to break, so it is comfortable. More than comfortable, it is perfect! We have had hot and humid all week. Wednesday was well over 90 (around 33 C). Remember, we had snow two weeks ago… I am glad it is cooling down and the humidity is breaking – I guess my roots are from places like the Isle of Skye, not Cairo ;) Were are we that is warmer than northern Scotland, more humid than Egypt, though, luckily, cooler than Yemen? Some may recognize that photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.
As I said, it went from a cold, wet spring, still more like early April than mid May to July-like weather overnight. It is summer out. This week will be cool, but it is still early summer New England weather. Warm, but with cool nights (I could stand 90 F/30 C weather if it was down to 55F/13C at night so I could sleep! Anyway, with early summer, so comes some of the summer beauty of NH. I talk about running with dogs on the wood hillside in my backyard. I’ve posted quite a few photos of that hill over the years, but here is one from Wednesday morning. Continue reading →
