Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice mug of very strong French/Sumatra Roast blend, a cuppa tea or other beverage. Actually, it is approaching lunch time, so something else may be in order. It is a sunny day and beginning to warm up. And where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
This is one of those weeks that I have a hard time coming up with things that I did. We had a winter storm and so I spent some time on Wednesday shoveling wet, heavy snow. I also had a haircut on Wednesday and drove to the Cape in the evening. I did some writing, but for the most time, after finishing the drafting work of the two novellas and finishing writing the serial story I’ve been posting these last few weeks, I have been uninspired. Or maybe it is just tired since I haven’t slept well.
I have done a little bit of preliminary stuff on the new house. Not a lot, but we have to start some place. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice hot mug of a very strong French Roast/Sumatra Roast blend! Or how about a cuppa tea or hot cocoa? It is cold and the wind is awful. Not as bad as last night – I thought the house was going to come down! And where are we this weekend? Some my recognize this picture (though relatively new) as being in New Hampshire.
A big part of this week was about (warning, adult content) paying bills and doing banking and finance stuff. Cleaning up around the house (old one in NH). Taking responsibility and those types of things. (Adult content for mature audiences over ;) )
The weather has been very strange, as it has everywhere. Most of the week was far above normal, but we had an ice storm. And today is cold, if sunny, and won’t get above freezing. I mean, it is winter in NH, despite the fact that the ground is bare! I often have several feet on the ground this time of year (over a meter). Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in. It is still a little chilly out there, but much warmer than it was earlier today! It was down right frigid. So I can get you a mug of strong coffee, a cuppa tea or other warm beverage. It is sunny, windy and still just a bit below freezing. And where are we? Some of you may know that the Beatles’ mug collection is on Cape Cod.
A few quick things – yes, we had a bit of “Polar Vortex” here, but it wasn’t as bad as in New Hampshire, which wasn’t as bad as Chicago. Frigid, but livable. First thing Thursday, when it was just a smidge above 0 F, I took this photo, asking if i should go kayaking (too windy ;) ) Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice steaming mug of very strong French/Sumatra Roast blend, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other warm berverage! You’ll need something ht, though today is the warm day of the weekend – the high on Monday is supposed to be somewhere around 5F/ -15C. That’s the high temperature!! And we are supposed to get 18″ to 24″ (46 cm – 61 cm) of snow starting tonight. So my question is, why in the world are you here? And why am I here? No, I guess I won’t get into philosophy, but I will say what I am talking about (in a non-philosophical way) by “here” – I am back to using my original New Hampshire photo.
Not a lot to say about the week. I did some work around the house, I wrote a new 14,000 word novella, I wrote a couple of short stories and did some editing, I exercised/ran/weights/etc., I played with dogs, I had a super important appointment (finally!), and set up another appointment (which hopefully I’ll be able to tell you about next Saturday). Other than that, well, I know I never stopped, but can’t say what I did. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in out of the cold! It is frigid out there today. Yes, a pretty day, full of polar sunshine, but also polar air! I’ll get you a steaming mug of coffee or a cuppa tea, a mug of hot cocoa or other warm beverage. Brrrr, you’ll need it! And where is it so cold? The photo at the top is pretty new, but some of you may recognize the McDonald’s Pub mug and so know that it is in New Hampshire, and so are we.
An odd week. I do not talk about work much, except to say that I am kept very busy and that (one of my roles) I am a program manager for a web hosting environment that gets many millions of hits a day. I might say in my “about page”, I’m not sure, but I rarely say where I work. For very good reason. I am not going to say now, except to say that when I return it will take weeks to catch up…
I have been doing work around the house. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice blend of French and Sumatra Roasts, a cuppa tea, a hot cocoa or whatever. It is cool, not cold, but wet with some light rain. Indoor weather! I know, I know, the photo at the top shows snow. Well, we did get a little snow and some is in the forecast, but since the snow in that photo melted, there really hasn’t been much. It has also been a little warmer the last few weeks than most of December and late November. And where are we? That photo is one of my new new Hampshire photos, to go with New Hampshire posts. And yes, I am drinking out of the Van Gogh mug today…
I started this week on cape Cod. It was nice, though we did have some bad weather. I did walks in the woods, walks on the beaches, etc. Typical Cape stuff. We did New Year’s Eve on Cape Cod and drove home on new year’s day. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is actually pretty warm out there, if still a bit damp from yesterday’s rain. But the sun is out and it will be a beautiful day! And where are we? Some of you may recognize that pyramid of Beatles mugs as being on Cape Cod.
I was off work all week. It was pretty relaxing, which is great! but I still had a lot to do. Well, yesterday was a wasted day. I spent a lot of it writing, and there was a little reading, but little beyond that. It rained.
So there was the typical stuff. A Christmas get together last weekend. And Christmas itself, though I always try to have a mellow holiday. I did banking and accounting stuff and then there was the drive down here. I spent some time on Thursday at the beach and in the woods and went running. It was cold, but nice. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in! It is actually pretty nice out there, though still a little damp. The day will get sunnier but cooler. Anyway, we’ll talk about that later. For now, I can get you a large mug of strong French/Sumatra Roast blend, a cuppa tea, hot cocoa or other beverage (if you are here in the afternoon we can negotiate something else. I know I had at least one request for mulled wine….). And where are we? You may recognize the synthesizer as being in New Hampshire.
It has been cold lately. For weeks it has averaged at least 10 degrees F below average, with some days being 20 F below average. There have been days at a time where it never got above freezing. For the most part it has been sunny, though. The ground is, of course, frozen, but we have much more water than I’ve ever seen because of our super wet earlier autumn. The ice was 5″ thick on my drive from the constant flow of water. I’ve never seen that. Yesterday the rain came. At 11 am it was 35 F, at 1 it was 65 F. A fog rolled in and all of the windows fogged up on the outside. After being outside, walking into the house was like walking into a refrigerator. But after it hit its peak, the temperatures are slowly sliding. For the next week we will be back to being 15 F below average instead of 20 F above. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice mug of very strong French/Sumatra Roast blend, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is seasonably cool out there and sunny. A gorgeous day! It has been frigid for the last two weeks, but it has also been mostly sunny. After our wet autumn, the sun was welcome, even if the cold wasn’t! And where are we? Hey, that’s a new photo at the top! But you may recognize that it is the same mug I use for New Hampshire.
It’s been a very busy week! Where do I even begin? I worked and work was, well, work. Busy. A few issues to take care of.
I did some writing and some editing. What, didn’t I just put out a new book? Yes, but I am getting the next one ready…
I decorated the tree last weekend. Continue reading
Hello and Welcome! Come on in out of the cold! Shut the door quickly! Brrrr. It’s cold out there. OK, smarty, I know, I keep the house pretty cool, what with over 45 inefficient windows and such I can’t afford to heat the entire world. But I will get you a large mug of steaming hot, ultra-strong French Roast (yeah, I’m back to that for now) or a cuppa tea of hot cocoa. You’ll need it! It has been cold here all week, just peaking above freezing for a few hours a day before plunging down again. Today it will not reach freezing. This is January weather. At least there was no snow. And where are are we that we are freezing so? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.
What did I do besides freeze? I worked. I walked and played with the dogs. For some reason they just wanted to play and not walk this week. I went running a few times. I bundle up with many layers. I got a hair cut. Continue reading
