If We Were Having Coffee on the 2nd of September, 2017

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of a strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage.  Actually, I’m a lot later than usual, and it is lunch time.  So there are a wide variety of beverages available.  It’s a beautiful day outside, if a little cool.  September brought mid-fall with it!  But still, the sun is shining and it is gorgeous.  Maybe we can sit in the back yard as we chat.  Oh yes, in case you were wondering and didn’t know my little key for photos, that stack of Beatles mugs up at the top means that I am still on Cape Cod.

This week is my typical end of summer vacation.  Even before I bought the cottage down here, the last week of August (sometimes the first week of September) is always a week that I spend down here.  And for almost a decade my parents have joined me down here.  It’s a nice little end of summer get away, even if it is to a place i go all of the time.

Besides visiting with my parents, and things like that, I did some of the typical Cape Cod stuff.  I spent some time on the kayak, walked on the beach, took long walks in the woods, played with the puppies, etc.  I also relaxed, did a little bit of writing, talked to some people and stuff like that.  So it’s been a nice week. If We Were Having Coffee on the 19th of August

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of Dark Roast (not sure what’s all mixed in it ;) ), a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It’s an odd day out there, but after pouring rain all day yesterday, I am going to have to get out in it.  I hate spending the day inside!  And the last few days have been…, well, that’s what the coffee post is about isn’t it?  And where am I today?  Some of you may recognize that photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.

The big thing about this last week was that I spent Thursday through Tuesday in Colorado.  I did a lot of hiking and other stuff like that.  It was a good time.  I’ve just started going through photos and will have a couple of photo posts later, but here is one I liked: Continue reading

Don’t worry, there will by photos to come!! Continue reading

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welocome!  Come in our of the rain and I’ll grab you a large mug of Cafe Domingo, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It has been hot and steamy here the last few days, but not quite a heat wave.  yesterday was a little cooler, “only” around 85 F/30 C (it had been hovering just under 90), but it was much more humid.  Some intense “pop up”, heat/humidity induced thunderstorms rolled through in the afternoon, cooling it down for about an hour, but then it grew uncomfortable again.  After today’s rain it should be nice.  And where are we?  Some of you in the know can tell by the photo at the top that we are in New Hampshire this fine Saturday morning.

I can hear some of you mutter, “Cafe Domingo, what?”  I’ve been experimenting with coffee lately.  I’ve tried a few supposedly “craft/local style” Caribbean and Latin American style coffees.  Not bad, but I think I’ll stick with my dark roasts.  In fact, I’ve grown very found of Sumatra Roast.  It is very rich, yet silky smooth.  I’ve been enjoying it even more than my typical French Roast, though a blend of the two is great as well. If We Were Having Coffee on the 29th of July

Hello!  Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea or some other warm beverage.  Or Cold beverage, I guess.  I mean, it is summer!  Today, though is an odd day.  It is a little on the cool side – still shorts and short sleeve shirt.  It’s very humid and cloudy.  Not the greatest for being outside, though that never stopped me ;)  And where are we?  From the photo at the top, some of you may know that we are on Cape Cod this morning.

I just got back from taking a long walk on the beach.  Isn’t that how you like to start your morning?  I’ll watch the weather and may get out on the kayak.  Some friends will be in town, so I’ll spend part of the afternoon socializing, which is an odd activity for an introvert ;)  So I don’t know exactly what I am doing today, but I know I’ll stay busy. Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  Let me know if you want something cool.  I’m a weird person nad like warm drink when it’s warm, but I know not everyone does.  Currently it isn’t too warm, but it is very humid so sticky.  It will get hot later today, perhaps in the 90s F (32+ C).  It’s been hot all week, which is good after the cold end to last week.  And were are we?  Some of you may recognize the coffee cup at the top of the page as being up in New Hampshire.

It’s been a very busy week.  I felt I haven’t stopped, yet I can’t really say a lot about what I did.  I did play some music (I mean with my fingers, not recordings).  In fact, i hadn’t been doing much music for a while, but doing the video for my up coming book, The Fireborn, has put me back in the mood again.  I seem to go through cycles of different arts and I guess music is coming up once again. If We Were Having Coffee on the 15th of July, 2017

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It’s a little on the cool side for July, though it is very humid.  I think we have a return to the steaming hot weather next week, but we might as well enjoy this respite while we can.  And where are we?  Some of you may know that the pyramid of Beatles mugs lives on Cape Cod.

It has been an odd week.  I really didn’t get a lot done.  I’ve been down here since Wednesday night, but haven’t been out much.  It rained after work on Thursday and Friday was an odd day, though I did take a long walk in the woods after work.  I just returned from a long walk on the beach.  I saw a bunch of seals!    Not much else this week.  some reading, writing, work around the house and such.  My work at work was, well, work.

My pace of blogging has slowed down a lot since the spring and early summer.  I’m still blogging too much, but…  A big part of it is that I’m not posting a serialized novel.  Well, maybe.  If I’m not careful the story I’ve been writing for Sue Vincent’s #writephoto may become novel length.  I posted the 4th installment on Thursday. If We Were Having Coffee on the 8th of July!

Moog and Morning Coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong French Roast.  Or is it Sumatra?  I think, actually, it’s a mix of the two, but it is still good!  or a cuppa tea or something else.  It has been an almost perfect week weatherwise.  OK, yesterday was rainy, and the week started off hot and humid, but most of it was what summer days are supposed to be like.  Cool at night (58 F/14 C) and pleasantly warm during the day (85 F/29 C).  The house stays perfect in the 60s, getting up into the 70s some days (last weekend it was almost 90 F (30 C) in the house.  With the 100% humidity….  Anyway, it is great now!  And where is this nice, summer weather occurring?  Some of you may know that the picture at the top was taken in New Hampshire.

It was a weird week.  I returned to work on Monday, only to have Tuesday off.  I spent a lot of time catching up and the rest of the time trying to get my mind back into work mode.  Ouch.  That is difficult.  But I did get quite a bit done. Continue reading

If We Were Having Coffee on the 1st of July, 2017!

Hello and Welcome.  I’ll see if I can get you a drink real quick.  Perhaps we will need to stop at a coffee shop.  Hmmm, I guess I didn’t think this meeting through….  Anyway, it is grey and humid.  The morning is warm, though not hot.  The humidity makes it almost, but not quite, uncomfortable.  And where are we?   Even my long time readers may be confused by the photo at the top.  Here is the thing – I am writing this down on Cape Cod, but I will leave as soon as I post this.  Later today I will be up in New Hampshire, but i am going to take my time driving, making a few stops on the way.  So, the picture of the travel mug on the street is for me being on the road traveling.

I didn’t work this week.  I spent the week on Cape Cod.  Yes, there are many stories, but this isn’t the time.  Well, if you really were sitting next to me, I’d tell you about beaches, walks, swims, kayak rides, photography and such.  I might also tell you about editing and formatting. Maybe drawing and painting.  Playing with the dogs is also up there.  Anyway, it was a full week and i was up by 6:30 most mornings, a few even earlier.

In ways I hate to go back, but in other ways I have a million things to do up in new Hampshire, so I need to get there soon. Continue reading

If We Were Having Coffee on the 24th of June

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of very strong French Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It’s a little odd out right now.  It is warmish and windy.  It is also cloudy and humid.  It looks like rain, but I’m not sure if it will hit us.  And where are we?  Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from my cottage on Cape Cod.

Last week was very busy, but, again, I don’t have a lot to show for it.  One big thing, I am on vacation this coming week, so I spent a lot of time preparing.  There are also projects at work and other such things.

I also did quite a bit of writing.  I had sent my manuscript of The Fireborn to two people to edit.  One found a lot of typos and that type of thing, while the other pointed out more stylist things.  I’ve been going through their notes and am making corrections where needed.  I don’t always agree, but it is helping.  Actually, there isn’t as many problems as I expected.  On the other hand, I’ve done six drafts and over a dozen read throughs/revisions.  I’ve corrected a huge amount of mistakes in that time!  When I’m done with this, I’ll do one more quick read through to catch any other typos/misspellings/misused words/etc.  I started earlier this week and I’m a little over three quarters of the way done.  One long session or two shorter ones and I’ll be done (except the final read through).

Of course, after that part is done, the hard work has to happen.  In some ways this will be harder to format that Seasons of Imagination.  On the other hand, I don’t have to worry about a table of contents, which turned out to be a major pain. Continue reading
