If We Were Having Coffee on the 28th of November, 2020

Hello and Welcome! Come on over and sit for a spell. OK, it is a bit chilly, but I will get you a steaming mug of super strong dark roast, a (largish) cuppa tea, hot cocoa or some other warm beverage. Weather has been odd, but mostly seasonable. We did have some rain and those awful grey days that November is known for. Today should be nice, though. Oh, were are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.

OK, the first big thing – why have I been in New Hampshire so much? Well, last week Massachusetts put NH on the list of banned states, which means if I went down there I would be stuck at my house. I’d have to register and they would call me 4 times a day to ensure I was at my house. If I didn’t register or was caught off of my property, it would $500 a day per person fine! So I stayed in NH…

I did take some time off. I didn’t do a lot beyond the typical work (Modnay and Tuesday), dog walk and play (it poured rain all day Thursday, so no outside time), exercise and run.

The big thing I did was record. You may remember that I recently picked up a new synthesizer. I also had revamped my studio earlier this year (I was using equipment and software that ranged from 10 years old to 23 years old! Can you say “Windows XP”?) This was not only a first recording with the new synth, but a first recording on the new computer, new software, etc. I will post the resulting video at the bottom of the page. I also did a “first impressions” post for the new synth.

And that is about it. Thursday was Thanksgiving, but it was a very quiet day.

As I said, it is supposed to be a nice day and I have not been out yet, so I have to go and take a walk as I decide what to do for the rest of the day.

Thanks for stopping by! f you have a coffee share, I will try to stop in and say hi, but I will admit that my blogging time has been limited recently, and visiting has been down :(

Have a great weekend!

The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli.  I have not seen a link up – I’ll post one once it has been set up :).

Love your First Impressions! Beautiful and reminded me a bit of Pink Floyd! I too have been finding it hard to find time to blog. Reading and trying to keep up too! Adjustments and normalcy is coming around for my schedule. Thanks for the coffee on this chilly day! 😀

It is a lot of work, but for the most part, I have had it relatively easy compared to many. Living in areas were i can get out and walk is great. Hope you are having a good weekend.

It is strict, but I know people that say that it is almost impossible to enforce, and so they visit all of the time. I just felt a week was a little long to risk…. Chilly days are made for hot beverages :) Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, that’s strict! But I’m glad to see some states are taking it seriously. Calling you 4x a day? Who has staff for that? Anyway, probably a good decision to stay in NH for now. That’s why I’m still in Michigan v.s. driving down to AL where I planned to spend a good part of the winter. I haven’t seen my siblings in a couple years now. That is stressing me out, but not as much as considering I might be spreading this virus. Even though we had it, I don’t know if I could pick up the virus and put it down on something that someone else would touch. Also don’t really believe I’m immune. So anyway….I think I would like a hot cup of cider….maybe I’ll go make some. I loved your music, that first chord took me right to Phantom of the Opera!

It is strict, but they need it. On the other hand, a few people asked me if I am crazy – they go down to Massachusetts a couple of times a week and don’t worry about it. They think it’s a scare tactic that is unenforceable. Maybe. Anyway, didn’t want to chance it by being there for a week! It has been a year and a half since I’ve seen any of my family (4th of July, 2019). Anyway, hopefully safe travel will be here soon.

Thanks about the music! The very beginning is influenced by Pink Floyd, but I can hear bits of the Phantom through out :)

Hi Trent – wow – that is some serious accountability with the quarantine – and I would stay out too.
Nice job in the latest recording and here we have had nice weather (no rain so I am glad for that) but I am ready for snow – ha! However – I will be patient

I’ve talked to some people who have still spent a lot of time down in MA and say I am being paranoid, but I was planning on spending a week, so… I’ll visit in a few weeks and it should be fine. Thanks re: the recording. We’ve had a couple of snows already, but none lasting longer than a day or to. I’ll say, I’m not ready for it ;) Hope your weekend is going well!

Well hope your time there will be great when you do make it back there

And weekend here is going well
We have two guests coming by for a quick overnight stay and that was my Motivation to finish “positively purging” some stuff we are done with – and feels good to have gotten rid of four bags of misc

We have lock downs and more restrictions happening here too. This year has been a challenge. I am happy that I have this coffee share to virtual touch base with great people and see how we are all making it through one day at a time.

I hope the weather is decent for you today so you can enjoy some time with the dogs. Have a great weekend Trent and thanks for the virtual cup of coffee.

For the most part the restrictions haven’t been as bad on me as on a lot of people (I haven’t seen my parents in well over a year…), so having this inconvenience isn’t terrible. Technology is great – imagine how lock down would have been during the Spanish Flu 100 years ago!

Weather has been pretty good today – cool, but the clouds blew off. Hope you are enjoying your weekend as well :)
