The Weekly Smile for the 12th of October, 2020

I had a pretty good week last week. There were a few bad things, like my parents were supposed to visit me but were not able (it has been well over a year…), but over all it was good.

I drove down to Cape Cod on Wednesday evening. I took an hour off of work on Thursday and took the entire day off on Friday. I was able to take long walks on a couple beaches, walks in the woods, a long paddle on the kayak, etc. Over all it was a very nice very long weekend. Very relaxing.

Yeah, I know, I’ve used “time on Cape Cod” as a smile quite a few times, but it is a great smile :)

So, yes, my smile for this week is a long weekend on Cape Cod.

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

That’s a sunrise :)

For the most part I am doing well with the entire Covid lock-down thing, but one or two areas… Not seeing family is by far the biggest one for me. But it is always great to be down there, and I had a great time. I’ll be by in a few minutes :)

Cape Cod is always nice! Actually, I enjoy winter there as well – it is much milder (well, except for the wind) than New Hampshire and there are far fewer people around than the rest of the year.

It was a great reason to smile. You are lucky – the last two times I got new phones, I had to… one dropped while hiking and it shattered, the second, rolled off my car and shattered… So big smile that it was found in one piece, I am sure!

Any time spent on the Cape is mostly likely a good time…no matter how many times you’ve been there. I love this time of year around water because most of the tourists are gone and it’s still so pretty and often warm. Of course I have to remember in many places I AM the tourist. :) I hope this week I’ll have a smile, at the least I should be finished with isolation by the end of the week. Or close anyway. That would be smile-worthy.

“Isolation”? Are you sick or were you exposed? Sounds awful. Being on Cape Cod was great, but back in New Hampshire is also very nice – the colors here are so much better than on CC.It is my favorite time of year in both places :) I hope you find a smile this week :)

Yes, we were exposed, and we both tested positive last week. So we are in isolation and my wonderful neighbors are taking care of getting us grocery, the dog’s prescription, water, stuff like that. We’re pretty asymptematic but are both really tired of the headache that won’t go away. I hope to find a smile this week.

Good morning, I am smiling for adding Nutter to our lives and she is adjusting to us. I am smiling for the rain we had and removed the smoke from the valley and added with the fires, Also, smiling as my new heated help me over the weekend. Sorry to hear your meeting with you didn’t happen. Stay safe.

I’m sure Nutter has added to your lives – glad she is adjusting. There may be some rain here, but we are still in drought – at least no smoke, though! the fires in the west just sound so awful. Hope your week goes well :)

Still working and telecommuting full time is a great plus. I do love being down on Cape Cod, and this was a perfect autumn weekend. And, yes, there are fall flowers out :)
