The Weekly Smile for the 28th of September, 2020 #weeklysmile

Hi! This was an odd week. One of the odd things about it was the weather. It was downright frigid early, with a couple of frosts, but was summer hot by the end of the week. Not just the weather, but the color. Sure, we’ve had some color since late August, but it was likely someone flipped a switch on Friday evening. On Saturday it was as if the entire world was painted yellow and red.

Although I enjoy the typical autumn cool, dry days more than anything, it was still great to have a little taste of summer after the unseasonably cold beginning of the week. I spent a lot of time outside this weekend, as always. There was dog play and dog walks, as well as my run. But I also walked in the woods a bit and took in nature (i.e., no dogs). It was great!

I’m still lookign forward top typical autumn weather, as I said, my very, very favorite of the year, but this bit of summer was fun.

That is my smile for the week, a last5 hurrah for summer before the cooler weather comes back.

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

I do love this part of the country for its cool weather and fall foliage… The heat has finally broken and it will be closer to normal over the weekend. Now comes the game of seeing how long I can last without turning the heat on. I’ll be by to see your smile in a few minutes :)

Haha, we do that with both the air conditioner (too hot here to not have one unfortunately) and then the heater in the winter! Waiting to see how far we can stand either before turning on. We give up after awhile with the AC because I need to sleep in afternoons, we find it cheaper to just keep the house cool to a set degrees. More efficient to run this way. Hope rest of week is good for you! 😀

Hi, Erica. Very cool about December graduation. I’m also glad you started (maybe) blogging again. I have a hard time keeping up with your vlog and find reading blogs easier. That being said, I have been a little spotty about reading, so I’ll have to drop by and take a look.

I am not a hot weather person at all! I can stand a bit of it, but have a hard time living in it constantly (I have on a few occasions in my life). October here is typically low 20s but below 10 C at night, sometimes with frosts. Right now it is almost 30, which is too warm for late September ;)
