If We Were Having Coffee on the 11th of January, 2020

books-n-coffee

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you nice larg mug of a very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It is actually pretty warm out there for an early January morning in New Hampshire.  And the next two days will be quite warm.  I’m assuming we’ll lose most of the snow.  There is a major snow storm forecast for next Saturday and Sunday, but we’ll see how it goes.  Oh yeah, this is usually the place where I ask about where we are, isn’t it?  And I already told you, didn’t I?  Well, I hope you enjoy the photo from NH at the top of the page anyway ;)

This was a very busy work week.  I did get a lot accomplished, but still…  Next week will most likely be as busy.  No emergencies, which is good.  I do not like those emergency meetings ;) Most of my week was about work.

Well, except for Tuesday.

I had somehow double-booked Tuesday afternoon with a Dr. and Dentist appointment at almost the same time.  Luckily I was able to move the dentist appoint until after the Doctor’s appointment.  Because of the new time, though, I had an hour to “waste”.  Well, my doctor’s office is very near an urban park, Mines Falls in Nashua, NH.  I took a long walk in the park, which was very nice despite the fact that the paths were all ice.  Here is a photo from my walk:

I’ve been having good luck keeping up my exercise routine and went running three times this week.   I plan on running in shorts and t-shirt tomorrow, if possible…  We’ll see.

Other than that, it was the same as usual.  I walked and played with the dogs, I read, I did stuff on my computer, etc.  Oh, I did watch a movie, which is unusual.  I saw Apollo 11.  It was all footage and audio from 1969 and was wonderful.

Anyway, I have a lot of plans for this warm day!  I need to get moving.  Thanks for joining me.  If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop by, but can make no promises – I plan to spend as much time outside as possible!

The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli.  The link to join is here.

  1. Prior...

Whew – that photo from the park is breathtaking –
    Nice place to kill time
    Even if just an hour!

And the warm weather is confusing me a little – not complaining at all -and actually it is a treat even for those of us who like winter
-and like you said – next weekend should have snow or cold for a lot of upper east coast and middle too

I went running in shorts and a t-shirt today! In some ways the warm weather is bad because it makes the cold weather harder to handle when it returns… Thanks about the photo. It is a nice place to walk, but there are so many more private, out of the way places within a 20 minute drive of this park, it is a place I hold in reserve for “emergencies” ;)

Thanks. We’ve been enjoying 65 degree days yesterday and today. The rain over night took care of most of the remaining snow… Reality returns tomorrow ;)

I did read about warm weather in your direction. I hope you are having a good weekend.

Several years ago, after a few record snowfalls, my doctor asked what I was doing for exercise. “Shoveling snow,” I said with a straight face. Yes, it can be brutal. This year, though, has been odd, an as long as the roads are well plowed, I can run – I wear the same clothes I do for x-country skiing. Hope your weekend is going well.

I agree with everyone, that photo and park is so BEAUTIFUL!! I don’t live around trees like that and what a nice surprise with an hour to kill. I’ve been busy too, love being outside mostly with my horses! ❤️🐴 Have a great rest of your weekend! 😃

This is a gorgeous area. I often forget the park is there – when I lived in that town, I would never dream of walking there, but had to get as far from it as possible… Being outside is always great, and I’m sure very special being with your horses. have a great weekend :)

Thanks. Funny, at first I was bummed as I looked forward to trying to last an hour “shopping” between the appointments, but as I arrived at my doctor’s office and saw the woods in the distance… the rest is history ;) Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

This entire area is gorgeous. One thing about this park is that it is very flat – NH typically ranges from very hilly to mountainous. Thanks! It was great that ti worked out so well with the appointments. Today was just a great day to be outside – 65F!
