If We Were Having Coffee on the 26th of October, 2019

fall-coffee-share-new-hampshire

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get a mug of very strong Dark Roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage.  It is still cool out, but it is a beautiful day!  It has actually been a gorgeous week, with more color than we’ve seen yet this fall, and great weather.  There was a little rain, but mostly it was relatively warm with those blue skies you only see in October, where sapphires are jealous and clouds looked as if they were sculpted by Michelangelo. Do you get the idea that I love October? ;)  And where am I loving this particular October day?  By the photo at the top some may realize that I am in New Hampshire.

Oh, here is a photo from my kitchen window for this week.

Besides enjoying the sun, walking the dogs, playing with the dogs in the woods (unfortunately getting more ticks), running, exercising, and such I have had a busy week but I can’t remember doing what! Well, I did have massage.  I just started reading a book by Roberta Eaton Cheadle (I’ll talk about it more when I am finished). I have spent a lot of time playing music on my electronic instruments and piano, and I reread a rough draft of a novella I wrote over a year ago.  Oh, yes, and it was a very busy work week!

Today is our Lions Club’s annual Penny Sale.  I have written about it before, and most likely will again on Monday :)  I will literally spend all day (noon until 9 or 10 PM) working on it.  That means, of course, that I won’t be doing much blogging!

So I am going to go do a few things before I run down to the school to help set up.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend. If you have a coffee share I will try to stop in and chat.

The Weekend Coffee share is hosted by Eclectic Ali .  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here.

    Trent – more ticks…..?
Brother, what trails are you using? Perhaps somewhere different is indicated or maybe they make ankle-mounted insect foggers that clear the path for you with each step. Yikes! Stay safe and tick-free my friend.
Do they make one-piece Kevlar jogging pants?

I’m sure I have been getting them as I romp with the dogs in the woods behind my house. So I’m not on a trail… I try to spray myself down, but don’t always remember. It is also possible that the dogs get them and transfer them to me. We give the dogs the medicine that kills ticks, but if the tick moves from dog to me before it has bitten the dog, well… Thanks, Gary. Hopefully I’ve seen my last tick (on me) for the year.

I’ll trade ya’ weeks. It’s been moving, moving, moving…. Now it will be unpack, unpack, unpack. Yesterday, we moved all the furniture… it rained, of course. Weatherman forecast 3-5 inches… not sure if we made that mark but I wouldn’t doubt it. In our new place, we get two tv stations, both from Dayton, Ohio- WHIO7 & WDTN2, which would be really good if we actually lived back home. Not so good when you need news pertinent to Kentucky. Leaves are finally changing here, but many were blown down yesterday so not a good show to see. Between unpacking this week, I’m toying with working at bit on a classic science fiction something that’s been swimming around in my head waiting for time to come out. And, I’m re-reading Two old fiction series by Brock & Bodie Theone: “Zion Chronicles” & “Zion Covenant”… both set around the time of WWII and directly after. Hope you have a better week, next week.

No, I’ll keep my busy week, thanks ;) Moving can be a pain, and in the rain, nasty. We have had a cold (42) heavy rain all day today and it is miserable. I went to an outside party, and, well, I was soaked and cold to the bone (they had tents and wooden pavilions with a large fire, but…) I hope your writing idea pulls together. have a great week! Oh yes, is your move completely done or do you have more?

I feel for ya’ festivals in the rain.. ugh! We’ve got everything moved. I turn keys in tomorrow! YEAH! Now, the battle of unpacking! The main is done, but have our “offices” to do. Considering doing Nanowrimo this year with the idea that’s swimming around my brain pool.

And the colors are why I prefer my end of the East Coast to yours, though you’ll be laughing when it is -20 F here in January and you can get away with a light jacket ;)

What lovely color you have still! It’s raining here now, we had some nice days but I imagine by tomorrow most of our leaves will be gone. That’s OK…each day is one day closer to spring. :) I like that coffee (tea?) set…very nice!

The color came late this year, which was odd. The oaks are turning pretty close to on schedule, but we had them turning when the maples where just beginning to peak, which the weird part. Made for a short but intense fall.. Sorry yours was washed out with rain. Hope the rest of your weekend goes well :)

Lovely, lovely colours of those trees. Sadly I don’t think we’re going to be able to get out of Manhattan to see the changing colours this fall, but next year we’ll make a plan … everyone says how beautiful they are, and now I can see from your photos! Katie

Thanks. The colors came late this year, but for a brief time they were nice. Usually it is stretched out over a longer time period and we have more reds and oranges, so in ways this shorter burst of autumn color is more intense.

Thank you for the dark roast cup of coffee! I need it this week as I’ve got one more long work week covering for more vacations! That time of year I guess.
October is my favorite month too! Wish we had the Fall colors like y’all do there, but I’m not missing the ticks. (We have ticks here too, but I think they are a different species and not as numerous) anyways, not sure why I’m talking about ticks, probably because it’s past my bedtime as I need to sleep soon as I work tonight. Have a great weekend!! 😜😊

I talk about ticks too often these days ;) This year the itty-bitty deer ticks are awful, at least for me. I guess I taste good. To a tick.

Sorry you have another super busy week. Hopefully everyone is back from vacation soon and you can get back to normal.

Thanks. I have not done a 4-season collage from here. I have taken close to the same picture throughout the year in other places, but haven’t put a series together since I used film…

I actually like cold better than hot, and I love the snow, but I am tired of snow, or at least shoveling snow, of heating my house and of winter in general by the time we start seeing spring…

Gorgeous October photo, Trent. We finally caught up with some of our colors, too, and I even managed to get a few good photos at, of all places, the grocery store. Luckily, I just happened to have my “good” camera with me. Check them out over on my site, if you’re interested.

Unfortunately I haven’t had time to go out with my good camera this year, so everything is phone… It’s great that fall finally arrived, but it is a short season this year. I’ll try to stop by to see your photos later this morning.
