If We Were Having Coffee on the 30th of March, 2019

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of a very strong French/Sumatra Roast blend, a cuppa tea or whatever.  It is a warmish day, though not hot by any stretch!  It’s nice, though, and I’ll try to stay out as much as possible.  And where are we?  Oh, oh, it is s new photo at the top of the post, isn’t it?  The Edward Gorey mug may be recognized as begin on Cape Cod.  Since I am moving to a new place pn Cape Cod, I decided I should change up the photos and not use the “old” place any more.  Do you like?  Here is another photo you may see other weeks…

Anyway, I am on Cape Cod.  Still slowly doing things to the new place.  Talked to an electrician yesterday and should get a quote soon.  May shop for appliances today.

It is nice here, but won’t be quite as warm as in New Hampshire (being surrounded by water evens out the temperatures). And I guess it is Spring – I saw an osprey this morning!  Actually, I saw a couple fishing on Thursday – they were noisy!  And I saw a few on different nests this morning.  I saw a snake on Monday (in New Hampshire).  There are green sprouts everywhere.  It’s coming!

Busy at work as usual.

Not as much writing this week, but that is a relative term!  I still got some accomplished.

Yeah, I was busy this week, but not a lot to talk about.  Playing and listening to music.  Reading.  The typical.

Here is Swan Pond on Thursday morning at dawn (I’ll miss this, but there are other views)

I know, short and boring, I mean short and sweet this week.  I’m going to be out and about most of the day – being out to be out, working on the new house, taking care of dogs and, as mentioned earlier, possibly appliance hunting.  I may also take a run in about an hour.

Thanks for stopping by for coffee!  It was nice catching up.  If you have a coffee share I’ll try to stop by.

The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived!  Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share.  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here.

There’s a small lake several hours north of where I live called “Eagle Lake” and for several years I joined a small band of fishermen who chased down a particular type of trout that lives there. The timing of our adventures always seemed to align with the young ospreys taking to the sky and watching them as we trolled in the quiet sunrise was always a delight. If one cares to look, there is a magnificent world to enjoy out there.

    All the best Trent.

I love watching the osprey around her. They show up just as spring becomes spring and the last of them are gone about when fall officially starts. I can see the chicks in the nests in June and they fledge in August. Always fun. Have a great week!

Thanks, Terri. Cape Cod is a great place. I have a cottage on Cape Cod next to Swan Pond that I’ll have to sell as soon as I can get the new place livable (i.e, electric up to spec so I can turn on an oven without burning down the house). We’ll most likely do a full-time move in about 5 years.

Thanks. Half moving… We have a cottage on Cape Cod that will go on the market as soon as we get the new house to a livable condition. But for a while it will be a part time residence – I’m guessing about 5 years before we can move down full time.

The new place will eventually be my “retirement house”. There is a lot of work that needs to be done, but it is great place. The little cottage on Swan Pond will most likely go up for sale in about a month. I love it, but it works best for short visits.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

I like the new cup. And the Swan Pond is gorgeous! Here in eastern North Dakota, we are getting slow melting and some green grass in the paths between snowdrifts. Fortunately, the temps are down at night, so the melting and runoff go slowly, here in the city.

The bad thing is that Swan Pond is just a few feet from the cottage that we are leaving. There are some nice views a short walk from the “new” place, but not as pretty. Oh well, they are three miles apart, so I can always drive over, bringing my kayak, of course.

I have heard about a lot of flooding in the Midwest. I guess you are far enough north that it is more controlled, which is good. Spring melt can be damaging.

      Have a great week.

I’m happy things are moving along with your new home 🏡
It’s always difficult to adjust to a move even if it’s wanted.
You’ll be having sticker shock when you get to your appliance hunting. Even worse, is that they don’t last very long. I wish you the best in finding the right ones.
Get out and enjoy the wonderful weather. It may not last and then you’ll wish you had. I’ve been taking in the outrageously beautiful temps and singing birds at my place.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend 😀

Thanks, Isadora. Yeah, we are spreading the expense of the updates out over a time. When we sell the present cottage we’ll have more to put in.

It was a pretty nice day – a lot of being outside with the dogs, but not as much outside time as I would have liked ;)

Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week ahead :)

Thanks, Robbie, it was a nice week. Yes, we have long winters in NH. We can see snow as early as October (very rare) and as late as May (again very rare), but typically, what I call “winter” lasts pretty close to the official season – mid-December through late-March.

Harsh rain came through this morning here in central Virginia. But it’s clearing up now and is supposed to hit the 70s, wow. I’m heading out the door for a run with the doggy right now. Hope you have success appliance shopping.

I hope your run went well – I had a good run and the dogs had a long walk with play time. I’ll hit the appliance store later. It’s sunny and the mid-50s, but it feels great outside. I hope you have a great weekend.

Yeah, I can’t complain. The run was good. I will go out to the appliance store after lunch. The dogs have been walked and played plenty, so are content and napping… Have a great weekend :)
