If We Were Having Coffee on the 17th of November, 2018

coffee-in-the-snow

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get a nice large mug of a very strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea or other warm beverage.  As you can plainly see, it snowed Thursday into Friday.  Today will be a little warmer so some will melt, but with over 6 inches, it may be here for a while.  And where are we?  Some may recognize the photo as… wait!  A new Coffee Share photo!  It was taken two minutes ago (I literally stopped writing, ran out and took this!) Well, the stone wall is Granite, if that helps.  No?  I am in New Hampshire.

It was an odd week.  Weather-wise it was like January, not November.  Temperatures were 20 or 25 degrees F below normal, staying below freezing for over tow days.  And then, as I said, we had the snow.  Brrr.  This entire autumn has been wet and cold.  (Tuesday was 40 F and pouring rain all day…)  It doesn’t bode well for winter…

On the plus side, I had my bi-weekly massage.  Thanks Dottie!  Keeps me at least slightly flexible.

Work was tough.  I sat all day almost every day with little time to do anything else – yes, I always work hard, but I also get breaks.

I did get some writing done and also editing.  So I was productive that way.

Oh, I discovered a nasty tick bite on Monday and spent several hours doing the doctor’s office/pharmacy thing.  It still looks ugly, but no red rings around it or other symptoms.

Hmm, what else?  Oh, I have to run out and pick up some stuff in a few minutes, so need to sign off.

Thanks for visiting and having coffee with me!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  If you have a coffee share I will try to stop by.  (I have read about zero blogs in the last two days…)

The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived!  Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share.  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in!  Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory!  (Note – it is coming back!  A lot of people have rejoined and there are plenty of new faces :) ).

The tick bite me before the snow. It snowed again today – I wish I could have gotten some pictures of the dogs playing! I have had more bad tick bites in November than any other time – I think because i am so covered up that I don’t spot them. Thanks for stopping by! Better late than never :)

I laughed a day or two ago when I saw an African friend post something on Facebook about the heat wave. Yes, I want to trade you a bit of rain and snow for a bit of warmth! Yeah, ticks can carry some awful stuff. Around here one of the worst things is Lyme Disease, though there are other nasty things as well. I’m sure your parents were worried!

Thanks, Gary! So far so good. Either it wasn’t on long enough or the single massive dose of antibiotic did the trick. I have to have my blood work done soon, and my doctor added a check for Lyme antibodies, just in case…

So far no symptoms of Lyme, so I hope I am clear… It is too early for snow! It’s so funny, if you look at a map London is so far north compared to us, but I know it doesn’t snow quite as much. Hope if you do get some that it is painless…. With the mug, the green fields of Van Gogh mixes well with the snow… Have a great week!

We, up here in Michigan, were just on the edge of that snowstorm. So we didn’t get the ice that south of us endured, nor the amount of snow you got. What we did get was wet and clung to everything and is just now melting….because it’s so cold and damp out. Katie doesn’t seem to mind. I think I’d like a mug of hot cider if you have it. Glad the tick bite doesn’t seem like it’s gong to be really bad. Still….I thought it was too late for ticks to be out biting anyway!

Every bad tick bite I’ve had has been in November. I think when I am in shorts and a short sleeve shirt I catch them before they dig in. We’ll be on Cape Cod over Thanksgiving – there wasn’t any snow there, so if it isn’t all gone here by then, at least I’ll have a snow free Thanksgiving ;) Have a great week!

Wow. You’re a busy guy! I don’t know how you manage it all and still have time to write so much. I’m struggling to get just one post a week done. Perhaps you are just better at time management? I could see that – I run circles around myself most of the time. 😉 Thanks for coffee, Trent.

I do it by skimping on other parts of my life ;) Also not having children is a huge time saver… Thanks for stopping by for coffee! I’ll make it over your way – I can’t get you to show up on my feed, so I only make it your way when you see you someplace.

I’ve been meaning to add a a new New Hampshire photo and today’s snow gave me the perfect opportunity. I’ve seen snow in mid-November before, but I still think it is too early… I hope your weekend is going well :)

Oh, a tick bite when there is snow outside? Those monsters are nasty!
I started reading the Halley Branch, I think it has changed a bit from the original blog posts, hasn’t it? But since then so much time has passed…
I wish you a lovely weekend. Oh, I owe you a reply for the advent calendar. I am definitely having you!!!! No was never an answer for you :)

The tick bite was Sunday or Monday morning, while the snow was Thursday, but I agree, they should be gone by now! (Most of my worst tick bites have been in November.) The problem here is Lyme disease.

The core of the story I posted on line is still there, but I doubled it in length. I’m not sure if you hit any yet, but I added some diary chapters. I tried to fill out the characters more and give a little more depth. i also made some of the side plots a little thicker. But everything you read on line should still be there. I hope you enjoy!

I’ll have to start thinking of your advent calendar! In the next week or so I’ll come up with an idea…

      Have a great weekend!

You totally got me with the new photo! I thought I’d been redirected to the wrong blog. See what a creature of habit I am!! I do love your mug. Is the design a Van Gogh? I saw a trailer for the new movie out about him starring Willim DaFoe and I’m intrigued by how much he resembles him. He is usually quite good in unusual parts so I may have to go see it. Glad you got a break for a massage. I wouldn’t be happy sitting all day for work. Luckily I do quite a bit of walking, stair climbing and occasionally dancing (check out “Go Noodle” for the classroom and you’ll understand). Have a great week!

Yes, it is Van Gogh. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but it is on my list. It is very cool how they did it with all paintings! I have 2 different photos for Cape Cod, two travel photos, so I decided I needed a second New Hampshire photo as well. Today gave me a perfect excuse. Hint – that means you’ll be seeing more of it, at least during the winter. I try to get up and walk for 15 or 20 minutes twice a day while at work, but haven’t been able to lately because of weather and job. Oh well, hopefully it will get better…

I hope your weekend is going well and that you have a great week!
