If We Were Having Coffee on the 13th of January, 2018

Coffee in NH with Moog

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of a very strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea, some cocoa or other warm beverage.  Despite how it felt just a few hours ago, it is no cold and winding, the temperature already having fallen over 30 F in the last 4 or 5 hours and with it possibly sinking another 30 degrees before tomorrow morning.  And were are we that saw 60 F (16 C) this morning but will get down to 6 F (-15 C) tonight?  From the photo at the top of the post some of you may know that we are in New Hampshire today.

This has been an odd week.  I have been doing a lot of work towards getting The Halley Branch ready.  I am not working on the draft, but on other things which will see the the light of day very soon.  I’ve also been doing some studying, which I’ll talk about on another day.  I have been reading.  Just all sorts of stuff.

I guess I should tell you that health-wise I am much better than last week.  Weather-wise it has been strange.  We went from the tail end of the bitter cold to unusually warm and now, as I said earlier, we are headed back to cold again.

Work has been interesting.  I can’t say too much here, but I will say that I will soon be losing a team member that is one of the “irreplaceable” type people.  So I have to figure out how to replace him….  other things like that.

In many ways, there have been other ups and downs.  Some frustrating, others not as much.  Oh well, such is life.

This is a long weekend for me.  I have a lot of plans.  Will I be able to get any of them done?  I haven’t started yet, but possibly…  I hope so ;)

So, with that, I must say “Adieu”.  I will be around throughout the day and weekend.

The original Coffee Share kind of died out, but it has been revived!  Eclectic Alli is hosting a coffee share.  This week’s share is here. and the link up is here. Come on and join in!  Hopefully we can bring it back to its former glory :)

Thanks, Corina. I hope I’m past that relapse time – I’ve been doing pretty good for for most of the last week. If I get sick again, I think it will be something else. I hope I won’t, but with this winter… I hope you have a good week!

Thanks. I will always have very little control over that – I am the type of person that has to spend a lot of time outside or I go totally stir crazy. So 100 degrees or -10, I’m out taking my walk, and, when possible, running.

    Greetings, Trent.
We’ve had a day or two off from the heat, which has been a relief. Took all the dogs for a run down at the beach along with two reluctant teens. I don’t know why they can’t see how much the dogs love a run and ust get on with it. Our son had a good day sailing yesterday, and that’s now taking up Saturdays for him and my husband along with sorting out sails etc on Sundays. It’s hard for my husband to find time to relax. He goes back to work tomorrow, which will be a rude shock. two weeks now until the kids go back to school. We might just be ready this year. Fingers crossed.
Take care and good luck with your various projects this week.
    Best wishes,
    Ro

I would think the teens would love to run with the dogs on the beach, but I forgot that we used the term “teens”. There is no knowing what a teen would like ;) Gad it cooled down a bit. I hope you have a great week coming up!

Thanks! I’m a terrible sick person (I hate doing nothing), so it’s nice to feel better. And those couple of warm days has helped prepare me for the return of cold. The irreplaceable? Oh well, it will work out somehow…

Oh gosh, please don’t take me back to Jan. 2017. That was a rough month for me. LOL. Anyway, glad to hear you’re feeling better and I hope you find a replacement for the irreplacable. We’re having the same ind of weathe in Maryland. What’s going on with the East Coast? Have a good week.

What are you talking about? Everything is fine. ;) lol. Thanks for the catch, I fixed the title. Actually, this is the first time in about 3 years that I have discovered I used the previous year’s date. Oh well, slipping back into old routines. The east coast, actually the entire country, has just had some odd weather…..

I wish I could say that I hadn’t reverted to using the previous year, but alas. I’ll probably get the hang of it next month. You’re right the weather the whole country is having is baffling. I hope it levels out soon.

Yeah, it has been an odd winter. We had sunshine today, too. In Ohio, were my family lives, it was still precipitating when the cold returned, so they received a lot of ice which was covered by 2 inches of snow. Yuck.

Glad you are feeling better! I have a long weekend as well, and I will use it for lounging and dragging my feet. I feel like I’ve earned it. If I do write, it will be because a gnat of inspiration bit me in the night. Haha. I do need to work on that inspiration/focus thing and maybe on planning, but I’m not feeling that today. Anyway, have a great week, Trent!
