Costumes – #Tanka

Trent-mask

An eerie feeling
Sending shivers down my spine
Unreal becomes real
We are in a masquerade
Wearing costumes for the world

This was written for Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge.  The key words today were “Eerie” and “Costume”.

Is my horse Silver or are the bullets? I guess I could be the Lone Vampire Slayer. Wait. The Lone Werewolf Slayer? Hmm… Not sure I have it figured out either…

Thanks. Not just “disguise”, I was also thinking of the different “masks” and “costumes” we wear in our daily lives, not letting people see who we really are. A “work mask”, a “beer with friends” mask, a “mask for the grocery clerk”, etc.

That’s true. Actually, the main character in The Fireborn (the book i just put out) is a writer, and he sometimes seems to change the world by what he writes, so I’m halfway there already.

I’m copying and pasting what I wrote for Penny, but here is my idea for the mask: a new superhero! Yep, a virtual superhero. Maybe Virtualman – if you are in trouble, I will write a story about you and save your butt in my story ;)
