If We Were Having Coffee on the 26th of August, 2017!

Hello and Welcome!  Come on in and I’ll get you large mug of a strong Sumatra Roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage.  It is a gorgeous day!  I’ve already been out quite a bit, including a long walk on the beach taking pictures of seals.  It’s sunny, warm but not hot, and just perfect!  And where am I?  Some of you may recognize the picture at the top as being on Cape Cod.  The Edward Gorey mug should give it away….

This has been a busy week.  Work was very busy with several projects going on.  One day I had over seven hours of meetings scheduled..

This week was also the official launch of my book, The Fireborn.  Here is a link to the release party.

Thinking of links, after doing a coffee share for someplace around three years, I have decided to make a change.  When I first started, a lot of bloggers I followed did recap posts, so i thought the coffee share was the perfect place.  Nobody seems to be doing that any more, but I still did out of habit.  Funny thing is, I think I can count the number of times someone went back to look at an old post from a coffee share on using the fingers on one hand.  It’s just a waste of my time and your eyeballs.  I’m sure you want to know more about what I’m doing, not what I’m blogging.

That being said, i will bring up special posts.  For instance, I did a guest post over on Marjorie Mallon’s blog, here.  Go check it out!

The big things this week are that I drove down to Cape Cod Wednesday night.  This is my end of summer vacation.  My parents will join me for most of it.

Anyway, it is a gorgeous day.  I need to be outside!  I also need to mow the lawn.  I need to clean up and tidy up for company.  And there are a ton of other things I need to do.  You can sit out back and enjoy the sun while I’m doing stuff, but, well, I think I may not be much of a conversationalist.

How was your week?  If you have a coffee share, I’ll try to stop by and take a look.

The  Coffee Share been moved back to it’s original home at Part Time Monster.  You can join this week’s Coffee Share on her blog or by clicking on the “InLinkz Linkup.  In fact, I encourage you to click on the “linky” to see what’s been going on in the lives of other bloggers and even join us if you haven’t before.

Life is a constant reassessment and change and the same is true of a blog and the types of posts one writes. The change I hope will be good for you. Hope you had a great party – I arrived late but enjoyed myself immensely once there. I’m impressed with your video. It certainly piqued interest.

Sometimes i get stuck in a rut, and usually it is just because I don’t think about changing. I do think it is about time i did change this weekend coffee chat, though.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun making the video. I may do another one now that it is out and use the cover, but I have to find the time first ;)

    Hi Trent,
Thanks for coffee and congratulations on your book launching. What an achievement! Good luck with sales. I know you’ll enjoy the last bit of summer at the Cape. At your Summer is fading, it’s warming up here and doing that stop start thing where you think Winter’s over but then it’s back with a vengeance.
I spent two nights last week at the Central Coast Showcase, which shows off talent from our local schools. The performers are aged between 5 and 18 and some of the acts were highly professional and gobsmackingly good. A young man played Toccata on the piano and it was brilliant but on a funny note, you could see his hands reflected on the piano but only as far as the wrists so it looked like Thing from the Addams Family was playing. It was hilarious and brilliant all at the same time.
The rest is all in my coffee share.
    xx Rowena

My week: tiring. My hands and my back hurt. I’m getting old. But I can dream, and Billy and Roma will guide me. No coffee share for me, just the Friday Fictioneers that took a week for me to write. Still, I’m glad I did it. Sorry if I sound negative. I’m still thankful for my weekends off and time to re-introvert while I send thoughts and stories out to the internet. Ah, heavenly!
