Waiting

Cardinal

Cardinal

Winter
Quiet stillness
Cold without you
But spring comes
Noisy and jubilant
Colorful

Life in the air
My heart warms
And I’m alive

The flowers
Are here
Where
are you?

I understand. Mine are sometimes written to imaginary people, from other imaginary people. It’s fun! : ). So I am imagining who she is? Will she choose to return on the wings of spring birds? Your poem was beautiful for creating an imaginary world. : )

Thanks. And “she” can be whoever you think. Somebody just wrote a comment interpreting ‘she” as spring itself, since this has been a wet and cold spring, so “she” is missing this year, and that is 100% valid.
