Having the cottage on Cape Cod that I talk about all of the time i sometimes “forget” that I spend most of my time in New Hampshire. I know that sounds silly, but let me explain. When I first moved here I spent every waking moment exploring this beautiful state. I was all over on my bicycle, in my car and on foot. But then I explored less and less. Part of it was the “been there, done that” attitude, but mostly it was just the time commitment. I had other things to do, other responsibilities. And so I almost forgot about some of these beautiful places.
My brother came to visit last November. Looking for things to do I brought up some of these places. Why haven’t I visited them in years? I don’t know, but I decided to start exploring again.
Yesterday was very small scale, but i did a short hike. It was beautiful and peaceful. There was still a lot of snow on the ground out in the woods. Some ice too, so I had to be careful, but it was still nice. On my way back I ran into a lot of people heading out. It’s a popular place! But most of the time I was walking by myself. (Note to self, start an hour earlier next time.)
I did take quite a few photos. I don’t know if any came out, but this was the first time I really got to use my new lens a lot. If they came out, I’ll do a photo post later.
So that was my second smile this week, doing a great hike and starting to rediscover New Hampshire.
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!
Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning. I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST. I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder. People can and do join throughout the week.
