This is the beginning of the second year of The Weekly Smile! Notice the new graphic? Well,it is slightly cleaned up. Last week I posted a new smile every day to celebrate and to remember the origins in A Smile a Day. Now back to our regularly scheduled program ;)
Tuesday I finally received my Christmas gift. It was half a gift from myself and the other half from three other people. I bought a new lens for my camera. It is a “regular” lens in that it has what many consider the most useful range – 12-40 mm (28-80mm 35mm equivalent – I use micro Fourthirds). It is a bright/fast lens in that it is f2.8 for the entire range. It is a good piece of glass and was on sale ;)
So, what does one do when they receive a new lens on a dark, rainy winter night? If it is a bright lens they take a lot of low light photos!
Here is Princess Grace.
Here is a closeup of a small brass statue.
Here is Idina biting my hand. I was standing up and she was on her hind legs chewing on my fingers….
So that was my smile this week, playing with a great new lens!
What made you smile this week?
If you haven’t seen it, here is a little background to The Weekly Smile as well as some quick guidelines.
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!
Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning. I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST. I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder. People can and do join throughout the week.
