I spent the weekend on Cape Cod. On the way back to New Hampshire I stopped in Milford, MA to charge my car. My car is a plug in hybrid, so I get about 20 miles all electric when I plug it in. Anyway, so, as usual, I did a long walk.
Today was a gorgeous day! It was cool when I started, but warmed up nicely. There are still some leaves left, so there was a surprising amount of color. Sure, it was mostly browns, oranges, dark reds and dirty yellows, but still very pretty in a muted, earth-tone way. There were a few people out walking, walking their dogs, running, bicycling and just enjoying the day. There is a little park near a mill pond. A lot of people were in that park, sitting and reading, or talking or playing. The sound of children’s laughter rang out. I walked about five miles and it was great.
When I got home it was even warmer so I decided to go running. I ran about 4.4 miles on on of my hillier runs. I live in New Hampshire, so some of you may realize that when I say it’s a hilly run, I’m serious. I posted one of my best times for this run, with an average pace of 7 minutes and 16 seconds per mile. I’ve done a better pace on a four to five mile run, but not this one, my hill run.
I’m inside for a few minutes, but it is gorgeous out! I will soon go and do something else, even if just rake leaves. I can’t stay inside on a day like today! Just being outside makes me smile!
So, what made you smile this week? Write about it and post on the link-up (or click the little blue frog below). While you’re there, read what everyone else is smiling about! And come back to it later, if last week is any indication new smiles will be added daily!
Note – the weekly smile runs Wednesday Morning to Wednesday morning. I post in the morning (Eastern US) and put up the link usually between 7 and 8 AM EST. I also try to post on Sunday as a reminder. People can and do join throughout the week.
