Star Child

dazz

Stardust
Created in a cataclysmic cosmic crucible
Supernova seed
Spreading silently through space
Screaming its defiance
To cold entropy
It coalesced in the right place
At the right time
To beat the evil one – Entropy
Stardust
Supernova seed
That is your origin
That is your destiny
So make your
Supernova ancestor proud
And shine on
Shine brightly
And keep your eye
To the sky

I like it. Is entropy really the evil we face? Or is it the perceived balance we are driven to attain? Dunno…
But I like the end best : shine on shine brightly and keep your eye to the sky.
Reminds me of a song I really used to love and listened to again the other day after a long time of not listening to such, Makes me smile thinking of it all together.

In ways entropy is the opposite of life – it is the wearing out, the homogenization of the universe, the dispersion of energy so the universe will become the same texture, consistency throughout. Life goes against it, bundling energy, creating complexity, ever renewing. Seen from one point of view, life is the universe’s fight against entropy.

The end? Yeah, I can see you liking that.

I just looked it up right now – quick skim through the material – entropy = the amount of randomness in a system and if the system is closed (the universe is a closed system), it can only increase (become more random), not decrease. Everything leads to equilibrium. I like my definition better ;)

Thanks! Actually, the first thing that comes to my mind is the song “Woodstock” by Joni Mitchell and covered so memorably by Crosby, Stills Nash and Young. (“We are stardust, we are golden, etc.”) The second is the old Jazz standard, “Stardust”.
