Love, the Question – an Answer for the Love Challenge

I love the beach...

Love, that bitter curse
Sweet love, highest dream
What mystery love is!
None painful as love
Love pleases the most
With love we know
Only questions, love brings
All risked for love
Love is the answer
Oh love, reveal thyself!

“It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all”.
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind”
William Shakespeare

“Doubt that the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move his aides, Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love”
William Shakespeare

So I was given the love challenge, or the more poetically “Spread the Love Event” (see, four words) by Justine at Eclectic Odds n Sods , by Belinda at Idiot Writer and by Wayne at simplycomplex.

I decided to not be simple, but to show some very different sides of love.  The longing for one you love.  The hurt from an un-returned love.  The excitement and tingling of a fresh new love.  The steady roots of a deep love.  Love of friends, family and pets.  Romantic love.  The contradictory nature of love.  And more and more.  So what I wrote is not what love really means to me, but a few random thoughts on at the intangible nature of love.

Here are the “rules”, but, as they say, in love, there are no rules, or perhaps “No rules in love”, would better fit the challenge.

  1. Write ten four word sentences about what love means to you.
  2. Share your favorite quote on love.
  3. Nominate ten other bloggers for the same.

I’m supposed to challenge others, but instead I’ll make it an open challenge for all of you.  Any who chose to can write words of love, we are all capable as it is in the human heart.

As you can see, I broke the first rule because I didn’t put down what love means to me but rather, taken together about the intangible, shifting nature of love.  I have no favorite love quote but use different ones at different times, or usually make up my own.  So I just put down three random quotes, the first I guess I use the most.  So I broke the second rule.  And since I’m not choosing ten people I broke the third.

Besides breaking all of the rules of love, I also played a game with “love”.  If you missed it, I highlighted it.  Go back and look.

So, how will you answer the challenge, will you help spread the love?
